Biden says Jimmy Carter has asked him to deliver his eulogy
President Joe Biden is planning to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.
Joe Biden provided donors at a California fundraiser on Monday evening with details about his "recent" trip to see the 39th president.
Joe Biden has known Jimmy Carter since he was a young Delaware senator who supported Carter's 1976 presidential campaign.
"He asked me to do his eulogy," Biden said, before stopping himself from saying more. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that."
Jimmy Carter is 98 years old, the longest living US President.
Jimmy Carter announced on February 18 that he would spend the rest of his days receiving end-of-life care at home.
Joe Biden alluded to Carter's 2015 cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery.
Joe Biden said "I spent time with Jimmy Carter and it finally happened to him, but he found a way to keep him around longer than he anticipated because he found a breakthrough."
