Dallas Cowboys seems poised to let Te Dalton Schultz hot open market
Dalton Schultz will be available this month, bringing the tight end of the Cowboys one step closer to a probable departure in free agency.
When permitted to do so on March 13, Schultz is likely to start contract talks with other teams unless something unexpected happens.
Seven tight ends have combined for at least 2,000 receiving yards in the last three years, including Schultz.
With a $10.9 million franchise tag, he participated in the previous season.
Last season, Schultz's performance suffered as a result of a right PCL knee strain.
In a Jan. game, he had two scores and seven catches for 95 yards, which led Dallas.
In 2018, the Cowboys selected Schultz in the fourth round.
Despite the uncertainties about his contract, he gave back last season after receiving mentoring as a rookie.
If Schultz does decide to go elsewhere, the Cowboys may decide to strengthen the position in the draught.
The class of 2023 is seen by many as having very great tight end prospects.
